December Daily!

I'm always behind. I finally started working on my December Daily! I've taken pictures and I have stuff ready to go into it but....NO pages ready....so today I started working on the cover....

Since this is my first year playing along with the December Daily idea...I'm not sure what size will work best so I went with an 8 1/2 x 5 1/2. I used Martha Stewart wood grain paper on the cover and then embellished with some of my large crepe paper frill ribbon in white. Then using bits from here and there...some red and white twine from my etsy store, a Martha Stewart holly leave and felt pointsetta, a peppermint stick from Michael's, snowflake from Jolee's by You, letters from Pink Paislee...I just started layering...

I can't wait to start getting some pages together!! Such a fun idea!! Are you doing a December Daily? Have any good tips to share?
Well....back to it....Hope you are having a fabulous day!!

Happy Monday....

Monday! Oh how I love a Monday morning....I like it when everyone has to get up and go...summer is so hard when my little babies stay up late watching a movie and then sleep until noon or beyond....teenagers....glorious little teenagers!!

This weekend I made a little art journal or mini photo album {as they are sometimes called} to highlight our little day trip to Monterey and the beach. {Its already been claimed by my youngest Daughter}. When I was done I saw all the extra papers and decided to go ahead and make some blank minis to put in the shop! I'll have 3 available!

Here are the fun and funky pages inside the book....lots of different textures...like felt pages, cork board pages and envelopes and tags...I even did a little sewing for you on 5 of the pages!!

I didn't stop there....I added lots and lots of embellishments, some handmade like a yummy yo-yo and glitter button flowers, punched butterflies...oohhhhh yea!! Its all in the cool colors of summer....Yellow, Teal and Orange!!!

I love how all the pages are different and while looking at one page you can see other pages peeking out...

Here is one page in my little album....a jelly fish page...I finally used the cool little printer the Kids got me for Mother's Day and I heard a resounding "It's about time" throughout the house....guess I should have used it earlier!!!

So....What do you think? It's my first time making minis for the shop...and they were so fun...I'm going to make some more...the next one is going to be PINK!!

If you have an extra second I would love for you to "Like" my HappyLittleArt page on Facebook.....just click HERE!

I hope your Monday is Great!! Thanks for visiting!!

Yeeehaw!!!

Yeehaw! I don't really ever say that word, I just felt like it today! Lets say it again for fun....Yeeeeeeehaw!

That's how I'm feeling. Like I accomplished something, even if no one likes it or even takes notice. I set out to list something new and interesting in my etsy shop by this weekend. I did. New goals are good.

I want to make more goals. I want too because it makes me feel good when I reach them, no matter how little or big they are. So I'm going to make more goals and I hope to be able to reach them.

Since I didn't get an opportunity to even think about this years goals at the beginning of the year, I'm thinking about them now! I'm not behind though....I'm right on time.

Setting goals can sometimes be overwhelming. Reaching them can even seem even more troublesome and sometimes when I miss a goal "deadline", I just about give up. I'm just starting to realize how important goals are to succeeding at anything. Both daily and future goals, I definitely need more. I've just been sailing around....I want a more focused, happy, loving life. With less clutter and stress and more relaxation and fun.

I'm going to be using this "Smart" mnemonic, I found online, for setting my goals from now on...
•S - Specific
•M - Measurable (or Meaningful).
•A - Attainable (Action-Oriented).
•R - Relevant
•T - Timing

Who knows what will happen but I do know it will start with simple daily lists of things I want to accomplish each and every day. The inevitable TO DO list and guess what....even though today's post took a completely different direction than I had intended....I'll check "Blog Post on Etsy Update" off today's TO DO list....Yeeeehaw!!!
Did you set goals this year? How are they coming along?
I'm off now....to clean up my office....a tornado of fabric bits came thru...and its also on today's TO DO List!! =:0)

A Mini Art Journal....Sneak Peek!!

I've been working on some Mini Art Journals! I've forgotten how much fun and calming they are to make!

Do you journal?

Collecting bits of the days journey and the rush of thoughts and ideas that can come through out the day. I do. I even carry a little one in my purse with me. I draw and sketch in it. I jot down something I might want and the price of it. I might write down a birthday or a to do list. Grocery lists and bill calculations, often plague my little book.

My Youngest keeps her own art journals and I'll admit...I've taken a peek in them once or twice, I couldn't help it. I see her working on them sometimes, but she when asked to share, she just smiles, a sneaky, not on your life kinda smile....she's a beautiful 10 year old...and her creativity is a completely awesome. She takes tickets and stamps and cuts photos out of magazines of things she like and things she doesn't. She writes made up stories and talks about people and her day and feelings. Some pages are just hundreds of stickers, some, in neat little rows....she has no IDEA how much I ADORE her books! Love!!

What are in your books? Can you share???

I'll have one or two mini art journals in my etsy store next week. Filled with 25 or more pages, some left blank for you to add your own bits of fun, thoughts and photos and some pages will have a few yummies already attached waiting for you to decorate around them!!

I hope that you'll come back to take a peek!!

I've been sewing!!!!

I feel like I've neglected you my dear blog friends, I haven't meant to but I've been keeping busy and it seems the week is gone before it starts! I thought I'd give you a little sneak peek into what I've been working on! =:O) I've been sewing all sorts of things! I love sewing...I love the completed project at the end too! No matter how small!

Like these adorable little pillows! They are only about 8" x 5" but they pack a BIG punch of color and make me feel happy!

My Girls keep coming in the "craft shack" and try to steal them. They said they would be perfect in their rooms....I've been making some more flowers too! Pretty yummy flowers and I've cut a ton of circles from pretty fabric to make some yo-yo flowers!

See, I've just been busy...Starting in May...I'm going to load up my etsy store and keep it stocked up on new projects and interesting bits of goodness! That's my New goal! So be sure to come back and check it out!! We're also trying to re-vamp the house, on a serious budget...Okay a tiny, tiny, barely there at all budget...to start Honey is working on this headboard that was shown on the blog, Be Different...Act Normal (one of my favorite blogs!) as we speak! My Kids bought us a HUGE, de-lish-ish, bed for Christmas but with funds a little tight right now we cant afford to buy a new headboard...have no fear...Honey is near!!! I'm super excited and can't wait till he is done. We are going to paint inside the square...Teal...*swoon*!
Well, I'm off...I need to make a scrapbook page with some happy glitter....

I'm in LOVE!!!!!

I am in LOVE with these fabric flowers! Can't make enough, can't stop looking at them, can't stop wanting to make more...in every color imaginable!!
It started out simple enough...I was responding to a comment left on my blog by Suzanne of Just Another Hang Up I love checking out new blogs and so I headed over to hers...looking at her adorable items I noticed they all had these beautiful flowers on them! A couple of emails later,(Thanks Suzanne!) I was heading out to the store with a supply list to make some, okay....make..lots and lots..

I have so many ideas to use these flowers for!! Like scrapbook pages, little gifties or more cards like this one:

I decided NOT to finish the centers of these flowers, that way I could put whatever matched what I was working into the center of them. Like this card, I used a little Melissa Frances glittered chipboard heart in the flower center! Too Cute!! Then I wrapped up a full sized Hershey bar! Happy dressed up chocolate! Who wouldn't want to find that in their mailbox on Valentines Day?!! Pearls in the center for that flower...the possibilities are endless!! You'll probably be seeing a few more of these fabric yummies on future projects......

I'm feeling a little obsessed but I'm not worried too much, tomorrow, I'll see something else...I just HAVE to make..but for now, I have a working stash of these flower beauties and I even made a few extra that I will put up in my etsy store soon, so you can have a few too! Do you want them WITH or with OUT centers??? Which way is better????
Anyway....I gotta Run...Thank you for visiting me!!! I hope you have a Great Week...

The New Year is Coming!!

Can you believe it? Its going to be 2010 in just a few short weeks!! Are you ready? What are your goals for the year 2010? I'll have to think about mine and write them down....you know if you write them down and put them in a place where you can see them...you'll be more likely to reach them!!?!!
I've been busy making some more 2010 Calenders! They are so fun to make and make perfect gifts for co-workers, friends, neighbors! Everyone likes to know what day it is...Right?

I used 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 square coasters for the base! Followed by lots of different scrapbook paper, cardstock, matching ribbon and brads! Easy! I also found these adorable little clear plastic easels that fit these perfect and are so fun for the desktop....you could also put magnets on the back too if you wanted it to go on your fridge!!

Wrapping these up is sooooo easy too....I stamped the Happy New Year sentiment from a Melissa Frances Clear stamp set onto a tag and added a matching ribbon! Easy Peasy and fun too! Perfect for sticking these in a co-workers mail box.

I'm hoping 2010 is better than 2009 for my Family and I. Its been a long year with a Husband who is a General and Plumbing Contractor. Our business has dropped dramatically this year and that has caused us to make quite a few changes, some great, some not so much! I'm hoping for only good things and I hope 2010 is Great for YOU too!
Have a Great Day!

Ahcoo! It's that time of Year!!

Whewww....its been a busy week! My first craft fair was a success, so much so, I will be doing a couple more before the season is over!! How fun it was to meet new people and see Friends who came out to support me!! Thanks to Everyone who stopped by to say Hi and those that made a purchase too!! It was Wonderful!! I did make a purchase from one of the vendors at the fair, Schmidthead Canning, she had said she's never sold her jam before but they were trying to raise money for their Son to go to the Boy Scout Jamboree, OMG...I bought some Strawberry and Fig Jam....deeeelish! It was certainly some of the best jam, I've ever had!! The lady at the table next to me, sold Scentsy Wickless Candles and all night long I got wiffs of these yummy scents! All in all, it was a fun time! If you havent been to your local craft fairs, you should really go, its a great way to support local Artists and get some great things that you normally don't see on the shelves of the local stores!

My Girls have both woke up this week with the sniffles! Ugh...runny noses and sore throats! Knowing that my Kids are not the only ones who feel this way, I made these cute little Get Well Soon! Survival Kits, which will be in my etsy store soon!!

How fun are they!!! Sure to make Anyone feel better!! I hand stamped the High Hopes image and colored him with my Copics...added a few rhinestones from Prima and ribbon from Papertrey Ink. My favorite part is that the bag can be used for those sniffle tissues!! Too funny!!! Inside, is just what the Dr. might order....Hot Cocoa, Soup, Tissues, Hand Sanitizer, Chapstick and some Ricolas!!!

Very Fun stuff, I tell you and perfect to make someone feel a little bit better because who wouldn't feel a little better after receiving this??
Another busy week ahead to get ready for the next show! Exciting and Fun!
Have a great Weekend!!!

Tis the Season! New Card Kit!!

I will have a new card kit up by the end of the weekend on Etsy! These are just some of things you can make with the kit! Add stuff from your own stash to make it completely you-unique!!

The tag will look so cute on a Holiday gift and who doesnt love getting a chocolate bar, especially when its wrapped up all pretty!!??!! Here's a close up of the card! I've decided Felt is my new friend! I love working with it and makes things look so soft and pretty!!

I still need to brush up on my photo skills...I've decided that my camera is really the problem =;O) but it doesnt help that I can't find the proper lighting!
Hard to believe the Kids start school on Monday! Happy about it but realize they are so getting older! My Daughter is heading into Middle School....how did that happen??? Amazing!!!
Have a great weekend and don't forget to swing by my Etsy shop later on in the weekend!! Hugs!
