My First Tutorial ~ A Pretty Posie!!

Well...I did my first tutorial, ever, for the P K Glitz blog on these pretty little posies! I'm sure you've seen them around but I wanted to show you how I make them! While they take a little time to create, they are worth the effort!!
To start...get your supplies ready, you'll need: P K Glitz Ritzy Ditzy Glitz and Glitter Glitz in a complementary color, scallop punch, vintage paper or print, glue, brads, flower centers and leaves....after that...you're ready to go...
Start by punching out lots of scallops circles....you can use, sheet music, children's stories, dictionary pages...anything really...

Then spray with your Ritzy Ditzy Glitz spray, I'm using Turquoise, as much as you like (I like a Lot!) and wait until dry (you wont have to wait long!)...

Then put glue on the edges....I pierce mine and do several at a time....and spoon all that yummy glitter over the glue! I love the look of that pile o'glitter...its called Lagoon...isn't it sparkly!!?!!

Here is another look at the glue all glittered up....pretty huh?!

Then, stack 5 or more of your glittered circles on top of each other and stick a brad in the center....almost done.....

Now crumple each layer towards the center where the brad is...do each layer individually....

Finally, add your decorative centers and leaves, if you want them...and viola...pretty paper posies for your projects!! You can make them in different colors to match your project too!! Fun, Fun, Fun!

I hope you like my first ever tutorial! If you make these posies, please leave me a link here or over on the P K Glitz blog as I would love to see them!!! Thanks for taking a peek! Have a great day!!

Not so boring Gift Card Holders!!

~~Don't forget to enter for my Blog Candy posted HERE! Odds are good!~~

I love gift cards!! Giving them and getting them =:O) but I dislike store bought gift card holders and want the recipient to know that even though its a gift card, I was thinking of them personally so I made a fun and beautiful way to make them a little more dressed up and festive, using a Bazzill library pocket!! Easy Peasy!!

The small tag inside has been covered with vintage sheet music, distressed and then a little paint on the top using crackle paint! When it was dry I stamped with Papertrey Inc. stamps...(which just might be my favorite stamps ever!!) The larger tea stained tag has been decorated with matching paper and the perfect size for a gift card!! Click on the pictures to enlarge them a little!

I'm doing my first Holiday Boutique in a month. Exciting stuff!! I have to start thinking of yummy things to sell!! Have any ideas???
Don't forget to enter my blog candy! Great Odds right now!!

Manic Monday!

Monday, Monday....Its the 1st Monday in October! I didn't want to get out of bed! It was cold and my bed was super snugly. I don't think I've recovered from that feeling.....and I think I'll be happy when its bedtime! I did take some time to make this scrapbook page, Okay...a lot of time...because I'm a SUPER slow scrapper.

I hardly ever make pages with me or about me as a focus so this one was a little different for me....but I do REALLY like the guy in the picture =:O) so I thought I should do a page of us....Honey and I.
I'm still trying hard to figure out how to take better pictures...I do believe its my camera...everything I try...pictures come out dull and not nearly as colorful as they are in real life...I gotta work on that...If you click on my pictures they get a little bigger and you can see a little more detail...but the color is always off!! Ugh!
Hopefully tomorrow will be a little more productive!! Hope your day was great!

World Card Making Day is Coming!!

Did you know World Card Making Day is on the 3rd? Thats this Saturday! Mark your calendar and get together with friends or family to start crafting for the Holiday Season without the rush!

I hope to get quite a lot of Christmas cards done and with any luck a few to put in my etsy store!! What will you do?
I have already begun making Christmas cards! Here's my latest:

Martha Stewarts dimensional branch stickers are perfect for Christmas card decorations! I bought these last year and I hope to see them again this year as they are so fun to put on cards! The pinecones are my very favorite!

Honey finished the lightbox and what a difference!! You probably dont need the whole set up, if you want to change your backdrop a lot...I bet just the wonderful reflective lights with the "outdoor" light bulbs would work...amazing the difference between regular bulbs "yellow" overcast and "outdoor" lights! Try changing a bulb at your house and seeing the amazing difference!!
I'm off....I picked up my Daughter early from school today, she has a tummy ache! The school said tummy aches were going around and then comes a fever so I'm trying to knock it out before it starts...water, rice, chicken noodle soup, vitamins, more water! I hope the rest of the house doesnt get it!!

Tis the Season! New Card Kit!!

I will have a new card kit up by the end of the weekend on Etsy! These are just some of things you can make with the kit! Add stuff from your own stash to make it completely you-unique!!

The tag will look so cute on a Holiday gift and who doesnt love getting a chocolate bar, especially when its wrapped up all pretty!!??!! Here's a close up of the card! I've decided Felt is my new friend! I love working with it and makes things look so soft and pretty!!

I still need to brush up on my photo skills...I've decided that my camera is really the problem =;O) but it doesnt help that I can't find the proper lighting!
Hard to believe the Kids start school on Monday! Happy about it but realize they are so getting older! My Daughter is heading into Middle School....how did that happen??? Amazing!!!
Have a great weekend and don't forget to swing by my Etsy shop later on in the weekend!! Hugs!
