Hand Dying Your Own Ribbon!

Ever work on a project and cant find the perfect ribbon in your stash to match your project? Well in case you haven't ever dyed your own ribbon...not only is it fun...its super easy...
To get started…get out your ribbon you want to dye and your color sprays, today I'm using Ritzy Ditzy Glitz sprays from P K Glitz. I’m using Turquoise and Gold for a cool summer color. I put down plastic wrap so that no spray is lost and it all gets soaked into my ribbon.

Next: Mist your ribbon lightly with water and then start spraying your main color…

While you are spraying, move your ribbon around to get color everywhere on it, picking up the spray that is on the plastic wrap too. When you have the color you like…add your second color….

Do the same thing you did with the first color, move the ribbon around, picking up the spray on the plastic wrap. When you are happy with the color. Stop and let it dry. When it dries it will be a little lighter. If you want more color…repeat the process.

I am calling this color Gilded Mermaid! Too fun!! There are so many color possibilities...I love dying my own ribbon and I bet you will too!!

Spring Egg Carton Yumminess!!

This is such a fun way to give a little Easter treat to someone!!! Egg Cartons all dressed up! I love them!!

The possibilities and color combinations are endless and each one is cuter than the next!! Remember how I made those flowers?...Well having a stash made it so easy to just put them on the top!! (I know I said I was going to put some in my shop, and I will! but they went so fast on projects.....I was feeling selfish.....I Will make some more soon to pop in the shop...)

Inside each carton is candies, including some little jelly beans, chocolates, a little fluffy chick and an filled egg! Perfect treat for your favorite peep!!! Love these!

I have a kiddo at home today =:O( She's got a cold and sore throat...I'm hoping she will feel better before the weekend which I'm excited about! I'm ready to make monsters with the Kids and watch the movie, Where the Wild things Are. We are going to have a yummy stew with warm biscuits....can't wait! I think tomorrow I will make my little monster so that I can help the Kids and do their sewing on Sat. instead of trying to do mine and help...I think that will work better! Since she's now awake and hungry...I'm off...I hope you have some fun plans for the weekend!

A Wacky, Wrinkled Wednesday!!

It was Dress 80's style at my Daughters school today! She looked so cute in her leg warmers, tights, multi-layered shirts and of course Big hair!! They should have days where you have to dress the same way your kids do....I know I could get some BIG 80's hair going on!! =:O)
This card turned out wacky. I didn't want it to. It just didn't work out like I had envisioned it. I was trying to do the #7 Challenge over at Chelsea's Blog,
Crafting Life's Pieces. Her designs are always fun and her work is AMAZING!

So off I start the challenge......I thought with this great Magnolia image, wouldn't it be fun to crumple it all making it look like a leaf?! Good thought...bad execution....I crumpled without abandon. Crushing all in my path. Pleased with the little ball my work had become, I opened the wrinkled art and to my complete dismay...I had wrinkled her face...UGH...I should have done a controlled wrinkle..It really can't be fixed. So I didn't really do all the elements to the challenge and wont submit it but the happy news is, my Mum will soon find in her mailbox a lovely little note from her favorite daughter and she no doubt will think, I, am truly crafty. Gotta love that!!
I'll have to try again next week for the CLP Challenges and finish working on the piles of unfinished stuff on my desk! So many ideas....so little time! As always, click on the picture to make it a little bigger!

Happy Tuesday!!!

What a beautiful day it is today! The weather here is perfect and sunny and both of my Girls came home from school and gave me the biggest hugs just to say Hello! Gotta love that!!! It reminds me to enjoy the little things!!
Speaking of little things! I spent the morning making these adorable little matchbox treat boxes!

I know altered matchboxes have been around for a while but when I saw the one on bibbi's dillerier I was inspired to make some! How happy would it be to find one of these on your desk or mailbox!?! Very fun! I love them! They are filled with 2 little Hershey chocolates wrapped in matching paper and they fit perfectly in there. I'm still working on a few more of them but with different themes! A perfect way to use up the last of my matchbox stash!!
What exciting thing are you doing today? Did you see something beautiful? Did you get a warm hug? Did traffic go your way? Did lunch taste great? Remember to enjoy the little things and theres lots and lots of little things out there!!!

Christmas is Coming.....

The goose is getting fat...c'mon admit it...you were singing along in your head! =:O)
I took some time out today while the Kids were all off playing and Honey was outside working to make a couple of Christmas cards!
I used part of a pack of Soft Spoken embellishments to accentuate the Melissa Frances heart...I love how that looks!!

The big chipboard "Joy" is so perfect for a card! Love the cute little reindeer!

As always....I am so disappointed with my camera...it just cannot capture the cuteness of these cards! There is alot of sparkle on the heart, which can't be seen at all...some day I'll figure it out or I'll get a new camera...hopefully the later of the two...=;O) Will try to take some better pictures tomorrow.
Off to pop these cards on etsy. Then to figure out what I'm going to wear tonight, Honey and I are going to see a play, should be fun!

I'm off to take a bubble bath! Have a great night and a happy tomorrow!!
Hugs,
I finished another card....Halloween this time...Its such a silly card...I don't know what to think of it but that is how the creative process works for me....

I cut out the Star from chipboard and glittered it right up...now I have travelling glitter everywhere!! Who knows what will be next...but I think I'll get one more done today! How did it go for you? Did you get a card or two done?
I received a package in the mail today....Prima goodies (*Thanks Chel for doing that)!! I think the next card may need to have some bling on it!!!
Until Later...
Hugs,

Happy World Card Making Day!!

World Card Making Day is Coming!!

Did you know World Card Making Day is on the 3rd? Thats this Saturday! Mark your calendar and get together with friends or family to start crafting for the Holiday Season without the rush!

I hope to get quite a lot of Christmas cards done and with any luck a few to put in my etsy store!! What will you do?
I have already begun making Christmas cards! Here's my latest:

Martha Stewarts dimensional branch stickers are perfect for Christmas card decorations! I bought these last year and I hope to see them again this year as they are so fun to put on cards! The pinecones are my very favorite!

Honey finished the lightbox and what a difference!! You probably dont need the whole set up, if you want to change your backdrop a lot...I bet just the wonderful reflective lights with the "outdoor" light bulbs would work...amazing the difference between regular bulbs "yellow" overcast and "outdoor" lights! Try changing a bulb at your house and seeing the amazing difference!!
I'm off....I picked up my Daughter early from school today, she has a tummy ache! The school said tummy aches were going around and then comes a fever so I'm trying to knock it out before it starts...water, rice, chicken noodle soup, vitamins, more water! I hope the rest of the house doesnt get it!!
