Hello Butterfly!!

I always feel like the cards I send in the mail need to be hand made....even when I don't feel like or have the time to make them. It often makes me send out cards and gifts later than I should because I need to make the card. Remember that Dunkin Donuts ad, with the man that gets up at like 3 or 4 in the morning and stumbles around saying....time to make the donuts...lol...thats how I feel sometimes with my card making...so...I decided to make a card anytime I was crafting around....and start a stash of them so when I need one, I don't feel like the Dunkin Donuts man! Oh and don't get me wrong...I love making cards and the warm fuzzy you get from sending them...I also...love Dunkin Donuts {and it's a real good thing we don't have any around here!}

Well...This is my last post for the P K Glitz blog, at least as a Design Team member! While they have asked me to stay on, I have decided I need to work on getting more going in my etsy store and have a few other things in the works, including taking some college graphics classes and possibly teaching scrapbooking classes locally!

I have so enjoyed "meeting" all the girls and playing with all the products!! I know I will use P K Glitz products in future projects so you'll see the sparkly stuff here...because really....who can create without glitter around????? So Thanks, P K Glitz, for having me and for all the fun!!!

Its been a busy week and hard to believe summer will be over in less than a month...
After the Girls got out of Vacation Bible School we went to the pool and I played water football with the Boys.....Two days later, I think my arms almost fell off from being so sore. I can't keep up with 24 years olds...what the heck was I thinking??? The oldest called to check on me the next day....he says "Mom, are you sore today?" I said "a little" he said..."Wow, I am!!!!" hmmmmmm....maybe I can keep up! =:O)
The Girls are still sleeping so I'm trying to figure out something fun to do today. I really want to go to the u pick farms and pick fruits (Im feeling a jam and pie making day coming on) or maybe the Garlic Festival?! I have an almost finished layout sitting on my desk, so Since Honey is going to work for a couple of hours this morning, I'm going to finish it and then close up shop for the day. What are your plans for the weekend? Hope you have something fun to do!!

You Make Each Day ~ Sweeter!

Good Morning!! Its bright and sunny here already today and it is officially the first day of summer vacation for the Kiddos! This card to me just oozes the warmth of summer time. It reminds me of a sweet fruit salad with bits of watermelon, oranges and strawberries..Yum, can you taste that?!

Celebrate with Style!

Thursday...Thursday already?!!! This week has absolutely flown by!!! I just have a little card today, one I made for P K Glitz. You can pop over to their blog to find all the details!! It's kinda funny, no matter what time of the day I look at myself in the mirror...somewhere on me is a little sparkle of glitter...and I don't mind.

Not much else happening around here...I'm working on some crafty projects and trying to get the house in order...ahh..would love to have someone come clean my home...I guess I missed getting the "cleaning bug" gene...I was probably finger painting or eating glue when they were passing that gene out! =:O)

Wish Big....I am!!!

Happy Monday!!!! It's a beautiful Sunshiney morning here and the Birds are outside singing pretty!!
I wanted to show you a card I made for the P K Glitz blog! You can get all the details about this card there!! You'll have to check out their website tomorrow to see how I made those glittery letters pop out!! Fun!!! Their glitter Rocks!!

That was my first attempt at making a fabric butterfly! I have since made a couple of dozen and they have turned out so much more cuter...I'll pop a few in my etsy store later...You'll see the difference!! Love them!!!
It's Weigh-In Monday......I lost 3.2 lbs this last week and that's pretty happy!!! More to go but I'm liking that number! Too bad I don't have Bob or Jillian around here to help me get to 10 lbs a week! Wouldn't that be fun!!
Whats for dinner? We are having Turkey Burgers....I made them on Friday for just Honey and I and they were so tasty and yummy....I'm making them again!

An Apple a Day!!

Its so sunny and nice here today...I can feel Spring coming!! Woohooo.....Honey even decided he needed to BBQ!! Yummy Ribs and my Daughter just brought me a recipe for Honey-Bacon Grilled Corn...and said we NEED to make this...I'm thinking she's right!!

I wanted to show you all the first card I made for my very first posting over at the P K Glitz blog and you can also find all the card recipe details over there too. I thought it was fitting!

I made the little posie on this card too, using vintage sheet music....so fun to make and next week, I'll post my first tutorial on how to make them so if case you didnt know how to already, you can make them too!! =:O)

I have to tell you that I Loved using the glitter on their Sticky Tape and can't believe I hadnt used this stuff before!! You will probably been seeing a lot more of it on my upcoming projects!! Am I behind? I don't care, I've figured it out now!! =:O)

So Thankful for Small Blessings!

Its so hard to believe another school year has started. The first day was hard for me (as it is every year!) My daughter headed to Middle school, excited, but as she got out of the car, she said she was nervous! I knew she would be okay but as I silently drove my youngest Daughter to school I couldn't hold back the tears that streamed down my face. My Kids are so incredible and I am amazed that I have another Senior in the house and a now "another" new Middle Schooler! As the week has progressed, I've learned they ALL love their Teachers and are happy with the prospect of this exciting new year. That makes me so happy for them and I feel incredibly Thankful right now..I guess that's why I decided to do a couple of Thanksgiving cards! These cards were so fun to make. I loved distressing the little chipboard hearts and spritzing the flowers with Glimmer Mist for a sparkly antiqued look. The BoBunny paper works perfect with fall and Thanksgiving flavors and using Kraft card stock is perfect for the look!!

I'm off now to make some fresh salsa. My Neighbor brought over a tray filled with tomatoes, fresh garlic & peppers along with some more zucchini from her garden and it just Screams..."Salsa"!!

Tis the Season! New Card Kit!!

I will have a new card kit up by the end of the weekend on Etsy! These are just some of things you can make with the kit! Add stuff from your own stash to make it completely you-unique!!

The tag will look so cute on a Holiday gift and who doesnt love getting a chocolate bar, especially when its wrapped up all pretty!!??!! Here's a close up of the card! I've decided Felt is my new friend! I love working with it and makes things look so soft and pretty!!

I still need to brush up on my photo skills...I've decided that my camera is really the problem =;O) but it doesnt help that I can't find the proper lighting!
Hard to believe the Kids start school on Monday! Happy about it but realize they are so getting older! My Daughter is heading into Middle School....how did that happen??? Amazing!!!

Happy Birthday, Mum!!

My Mum is going to be older this week...so I made her a card...and I "aged" it to match her! heheheheh.... My picture taking skills need some serious work...I know!!

I used a K&C Flower, they are so fun, like little pom pom's of happiness! The pink lace was sent to me (Thanks Becky!!) and its just lovely. The buttons, in a bag of beautiful, pinks, greens and blues. I'm not sure where the chipboard came from. The striped paper is Imaginisce and the beautiful patterned paper is from Tinkering Ink, which I just love!
I'm so use to doing things neat and precise. Clean edges, nothing undone. "Shabby", Distressing are kinda new to me so Im having fun playing around with different elements and techniques. I hope you like my mood?! I know, I do. Thanks for visiting me and have a fabulous day!

School's almost Back in Session!!!

The summer is coming to a close. The kids get their new schedules soon and I will have 3 kids in 3 different schools, luckily, 1 has his own car. I'm dreading the cost...this years yearbook is $80 alone for one of them! Add in the P.E. clothes, dues, pictures, ect....well...its overwhelming!!
I made this card today just because I am Thankful for school starting soon and that the kids still like school, well....most of the time! Its exciting!

I'm working on a couple of little school tags that I will sneak into the kids backpacks with a treat of some sort on the first day of school...I'll show you those soon!! Until then, Have a great day and Thank You for visiting!!

Happy Tree Friends!

Wow...What a week! Unfortunately, Kolt had to be picked up from cancer camp because he got sick and was running a fever! =:O( I was babysitting a friend's kids and couldn't go so "Honey" had to take training off early to make the 3 1/2 hour drive up to get him! He seems to be doing better but we will have to wait and see...the bug that went around landed some of the kids in the hospital with pneumonia and I'm hoping we don't see that here!! On the other hand...he Loved the camping snack attack box!!! =:O)
Did anyone watch the meteor show? I caught a glimpse of the most magical meteor I have ever seen on Wednesday night/Thurs. morning....It was HUGE and fiery red and orange...it was just plain....Awesome and gave me serious goosebumps!! I hope if you were looking you saw one too!
I've been inspired to do a Halloween card.....kinda vintage and playful, different but I like it!

I used some paper from last season from Doodlebug and Making Memories. I don't know where the stamp is from...its on a set of three sayings. Maybe the $1 spot at Michael's??? I love the new Martha Stewart spiderweb punch but I really want to get my hands on the goop one!!! Way cool!!
All week long the puppies have been going crazy at random times during the day...running outside, running around the perimeter of the yard...barking...then back in the house again....I finally followed them around the yard wondering what had them so ruffled up....I think they found a new tree friend.....

Cancer Sucks! Yes, I said that!!!

I'm Back....Canada was wonderful! It was great to see all my family and Nana who is turning 100 couldn't look more fabulous!! Funny thing about vacations...I'm always happy to go on them and I'm always happy to return from them! =:O)
Today I made this card for my Friend and Neighbor who has just been recently diagnosed with breast cancer. =:O( She is having surgery today and I have been thinking about her all day so what better time, then now, to make her an I'm thinking of you card?

I used the traditional Pink color on this card but Im sure I will be making more for her that will not be pink...I thought this cute mouse from Whipper Snapper Designs that someone nice on SCS sent me was perfect just to let her know I want her to get well. On the inside of the card I put some crystal butterflies~that look so pretty! The circle sentiment, I believe, is from the Cutting Cafe that I downloaded a while back.
I hope to be crafting more but I will be listing less on eBay right now. I'm am going to work on items now and sell them in the fall. That way when the busier times come I can list regularly instead of having weeks where I list nothing.....Okay...it's a plan...a new plan...it can't be a bad thing!

Just a quick Hello!!

My poor little daughter is sick. I think she has the flu! She is trying to be such a trooper but I know she feels bad! I had to keep her home from school today and thats no fun!! I just wanted to quickly post the card I had made. Little Tilda, I don't know the name of the stamp but she is from Magnolia and she is holding a lovely flower!

Cover your mouth when you sneeze, wash your hands, A Lot and get plenty of rest so you can avoid the flu this season....I know Im trying!!! Have a Great Day!

New Years' Resolutions?!

I started out making this card as a fun card to give to someone who was going on a diet or giving up sweets on this New Years...after the card was done though...I realized it could be used as a Birthday Card, Valentines Card or as a Thank You card for someone "Sweet"!! The stamp is a WhipperSnapper stamp and I colored it using Copic Sketch markers. I pop-dotted and glazed the little mouse's nose and the cherry on top of the cupcake. The cupcake was "Stickled". I sewed the card and added the little pearls in the corners! Too Fun!
