I've been working on projects that are due and can't show you any of them just yet...no fun, I know! What have you been doing??? My Sister surprised us by showing up bright and early this morning!! I love those kinds of surprises! I haven't seen her since last summer's Canada trip and I'm glad to have her here!! We picked the cherries from our tree today and tonight we are making...some fresh Cherry Crisp for dessert.....YUM...I am also going to make some MandarinBlueberryCherry Jam tonight. I love fresh homemade jam!!! I hope you have some exciting plans for the weekend! I can see my diet has been tossed out the window this weekend...oh Well....its a process....right???a never ending process!!! Remember to have fun...
How was your weekend? Mine was pretty darn hApPy, even though I turned a little older! =:O) My adorable Family all pitched in and bought me a shiny new camera!!! Wooohoooo...I got a Canon Rebel and I'm pretty happy about that since I have been wanting a better camera for a while!! Now I should be able (hopefully) to take better pictures!! Happy!!!! I did finish this layout last week....for the P K Glitz blog. Even though its been a few years since she was a senior....I still love this photo of her!! You can find all the details for this layout on their blog! The forecast for the weather for this week is rain, rain and some more rain....not happy! Hopefully that means I can get some projects done around the house! Honey refinished the dining room farm table, painting the legs red and sanding down the table top and then glossing it up!! Looks beautiful and just like a new table! Now I just need to get some fun pillows for the bench seat and my little tiny dining room will be much, oh so much, cuter!! Weigh In Monday: Even with all the over eating I did this weekend(Benihanas, hot fudge sundaes, frosted cupcakes, HUGE breakfasts on BOTH days)...I'm down almost 1 lb for a total of 6.6 lbs! Small victory and I'm taking it!! I'm sure it was because I stayed totally on plan for the first part of the week because I definately was on diet holiday this weekend!! Hope you're doing something fun!!
Thursday...Thursday already?!!! This week has absolutely flown by!!! I just have a little card today, one I made for P K Glitz. You can pop over to their blog to find all the details!! It's kinda funny, no matter what time of the day I look at myself in the mirror...somewhere on me is a little sparkle of glitter...and I don't mind. Not much else happening around here...I'm working on some crafty projects and trying to get the house in order...ahh..would love to have someone come clean my home...I guess I missed getting the "cleaning bug" gene...I was probably finger painting or eating glue when they were passing that gene out! =:O) Have a Happy Day!!
I did this layout for P K Glitz blog and you can find all the details for it over there!! This was the only picture I had of the Jonas Brother concert that the Girls and their older Brother went to! Knowing the Girls had Loved the Jonas Brothers, Kyle secretly got front row tickets and surprised them!! They were so excited and got to making the big poster they took to the concert!! While it was a little loud in the front row...they had fun and Kyle got serious Best Big Brother points!! =;o) How was your weekend? What did you do? I had hoped to clean out the hall closet, which really is like the closet you see in TV sitcoms where, when they open it, everything falls out. Balls flying, boxes and bags crashing to the floor....it really needs some attention...I wanted to do a Hoarders show like clean-out and take everything outside, sort it and return it to its proper place...but alas...it was suppose to rain on Sunday and it ruined my plans...sad really! =;0) Saturday night was Family Fun Night and we did a Board game night and made brownies(yea, I know, not on the diet). Sunday, Katie and I, headed into the City and went to see the Broadway musical...In the Heights, which was super fun! On the way home we ending up finding the most perfect little sushi bar ever. * It had these little boats traveling around a small river...each boat carried tiny plates of sushi which you picked from! Loved it there and the food...Yummy!! Are you ready for this new week? I'm not so sure I am! My Daughter woke up with a deep, yucky cough...the kind you know is not so good and after a trip to the Doctors, turns out she has croup, poor thing! =:O( I would bet it travels thru the house like a cold breeze on a dark and rainy day infecting the rest of the crew by weeks end. Tis the way of the icky cold....I'm hoping it doesn't though...and one can always hope! Wash your hands and stay Healthy.... Just a quick post....I'm trying to get some layouts done but in between I've started to make some 4th of July items...I know...it seems Early...but really its not...its right around the corner! I put these I Dig theUSA shovels in my etsy shop last week! They are packed with fun things, like bubbles and star necklaces!! I love them!! I've got some ideas for some tags too!! I really want to make a flag bunting too....Is there ever enough hours in the day????? I need to make something for the Kids Teachers today too...Okay...I seem to be procrastinating, do you ever do that? I've got to get off this computer and get something done!!! Good Morning! On the Wish Big card I showed you on Monday, I made two of the letters stand out, today, I wanted to show you how I made those letters but first I want to talk about Peter Pan.....We went into the City this week to see Peter Pan!! Plays make me Happy...they always have and we try to see as many as we can....but this one...."was an awfully big adventure"!! I loved it!!! The whole thing!From taking BART into the City with the Kids to watching this fun show which was unlike any other I have seen, to intermission when they went into a candy tent and packed colorful Chinese take out boxes with candy to seeing the Kids expressions and excitement to even hoping back on BART afterwards....I loved it all!! If you are in the Bay Area...I highly recommend taking your Kids or seeing it yourself! This was the US premiere so I have no doubt it will be making its way around the US soon...GO...you so wont be disappointed!!!
Okay...now back to Our regularly scheduled crafting adventures.... On to the letters.....You may have seen this technique before but in case you haven't..it's pretty neat! Its kinda like when you were in Elementary School and you would write something down on a piece of construction paper, in glue, and then you would take a piece of string and follow your “glue word” by laying the string right on top! Its the same principle but with no glue!!! All you really need is Sticky Tape and Glitter!!
First take your Sticky Tape…I used 1/4″ for my letters…if you want bigger or wider letters you can use larger tape, ect. and peel off the protective layer….It gets pretty sticky…try to keep it from getting loops… While holding it in both hands take each end and start twisting….twist until its all twisted tight. Once you have your tape twisted, you can start “writing with it”! Here I followed along the stamped sentiment…. The Sticky Tape stays where you put it and also acts as your “glue” for the glitter! When you have the letters like you like them…pour your glitter over them…...make sure to remove any “stray” fabric strands from your glitter pile =:O) I used P K Glitz's Glitter Glitz in Ginger which is quickly becoming a favorite! Pour off the extra glitter, add more if you need…and then brush off……Now you have dimensional letters that are like “string” letters and add an extra “pop” to your projects…and its fun to do! =:O) I hope you have a GREAT day and remember...."All you need is trust and a little Pixie Dust!!"....
Happy Monday!!!! It's a beautiful Sunshiney morning here and the Birds are outside singing pretty!! I wanted to show you a card I made for the P K Glitz blog! You can get all the details about this card there!! You'll have to check out their website tomorrow to see how I made those glittery letters pop out!! Fun!!! Their glitter Rocks!! That was my first attempt at making a fabric butterfly! I have since made a couple of dozen and they have turned out so much more cuter...I'll pop a few in my etsy store later...You'll see the difference!!Lovethem!!! It's Weigh-In Monday......I lost 3.2 lbs this last week and that's pretty happy!!! More to go but I'm liking that number! Too bad I don't have Bob or Jillian around here to help me get to 10 lbs a week! Wouldn't that be fun!! Whats for dinner? We are having Turkey Burgers....I made them on Friday for just Honey and I and they were so tasty and yummy....I'm making them again! Its a busy week around here! Hope yours is Wonderful!! I know, I know...MORE flowers....MORE sewing?!!!! I've always loved to sew...but I've been seriously into it this week....free style sewing....not following the line sewing....I made a bunch of these hand cut flowers (Okay...a lot!) I'm putting some on a layout I'm working on....too cute...I put a few in the shop too! =:O) You know when you make something...whatever it is....and you look at it and it makes you feel happy? These makes me happy, they are silly, small and they are just so colorful!! Love them!!! What exciting plans do you have for this weekend? Not a whole lot around here....hopefully we will paint the square on the faux headboard Honey made....he talked me out of Teal =:O( he thought a neutral color would be better...that way I could use any sheets I wanted and it would always match...Doesn't Teal match everything? Isn't it the New neutral? Oh Well...neutral is...well, I wont say... Off to make bun less, Turkey Burgers and corn on the cob, YUM! Have a blast....
It was a pretty quiet weekend around here. I even got to sleep in on Saturday!!! We rented a couple of movies...Avatar (loved it, wish I had seen it on the big screen now!) and The Bad Lieutenant (Hated it, no really Hated it!) and while we watched....I sewed and sewed these little yo-yo's. At one point my Honey said..."How many of those things do you need?" A lot...I'm sure of it! How many? I don't know...just lots and lots!! What am I gonna make with them? Flowers, for sure...maybe hair clips...maybe scrapbook embellishments...who knows..I just had to make them. My Daughter wanted to learn too...and she did and then made several herself! I also started Weight Watchers! I definitely need to get this extra weight off me. Its so boring being over-weight. I hate it. So....I'm gonna work it...I planned the meals, I went grocery shopping! With me, if I plan...Its easy, peasy...If I don't....well, not so much. Tonight for Dinner...London Broil that's been marinating since yesterday and oven-roasted Beets and Garlic..YUM! I'll have to make another veggie too, since I'm not sure the Kiddos will like Beets, then again...ya never know! What exciting thing did you do or was your weekend quiet too!? It’s been a while since I made an ATC or ACEO….its even been a longer time since I’ve made a Fairy Tear Bear!! I decided to make one this week and boy…did it take me longer than expected...I'd forgotten how much effort these little bears take!! I think the end result turned out pretty cute thou... The title for this Fairy Bear ATC is a little reminder that I think We ALL forget sometimes... the knowledge and belief that we are, already, More Than Enough...remember that... I love Photo Booths! I do, I admit it! I don't think you can ever go into a Photo Booth and come out...not Smiling! They just make you happy! I feel like I've neglected you my dear blog friends, I haven't meant to but I've been keeping busy and it seems the week is gone before it starts! I thought I'd give you a little sneak peek into what I've been working on! =:O) I've been sewing all sorts of things! I love sewing...I love the completed project at the end too! No matter how small! Like these adorable little pillows! They are only about 8" x 5" but they pack a BIG punch of color and make me feel happy! My Girls keep coming in the "craft shack" and try to steal them. They said they would be perfect in their rooms....I've been making some more flowers too! Pretty yummy flowers and I've cut a ton of circles from pretty fabric to make some yo-yo flowers! See, I've just been busy...Starting in May...I'm going to load up my etsy store and keep it stocked up on new projects and interesting bits of goodness! That's my New goal! So be sure to come back and check it out!! We're also trying to re-vamp the house, on a serious budget...Okay a tiny, tiny, barely there at all budget...to start Honey is working on this headboard that was shown on the blog, Be Different...Act Normal (one of my favorite blogs!) as we speak! My Kids bought us a HUGE, de-lish-ish, bed for Christmas but with funds a little tight right now we cant afford to buy a new headboard...have no fear...Honey is near!!! I'm super excited and can't wait till he is done. We are going to paint inside the square...Teal...*swoon*! Well, I'm off...I need to make a scrapbook page with some happy glitter.... Hugs,
